ABOUT US
Crime Scene Events is an official part of the GOTO Events portfolio, dedicated to unique team building and corporate experience. So who are we?
The team at GOTO Events are a group of specialists with over 40 years experience in team building and corporate experiences. Running over 700 events a year, we are constantly looking for new innovations and new events that we can offer to our clients.
After seeing how popular our standard Crime Scene Experience was, we reached out to our clients to get their opinions. Did they want to see more crime related events. The response was a landslide yes, so we decided to set up Crime Scene Events and here we are!
Crime Scene Events and all its experiences have been carefully designed by a collective group of specialists from all across the UK, all with a very interesting and relevant background. When we first set up the division, we wanted to know more about modern day forensics as well as the traditional techniques. We drafted in a focus group of experts including:
Ex-Police Detectives
With experience dating back to the 70’s, it was extremely insightful to understand the world of crime scene investigation with limited technology. Looking at how crimes such as The Great Train Robbery were solved, we were able to build up our more authentic experiences such as Go Mad in the Country and traditional Murder mystery themes.
Forensic Scientists
For the modern day forensics we worked with Bournemouth University, who brought a huge amount to the table. This lead us into the world of DNA, modern day finger printing, fiber analysis, ballistics, blood spatter analysis and toxicology.
Military
The military have a lot of hidden involvement with forensics and crime scene investigation, especially when it comes to the special forces and the likes of Mi5. A lot of our instructors come from a military background, having served around the world on all forms of operations. They added a huge amount of value and expertise, especially when it came to areas such as ballistics and tactical / covert techniques used when tracking down suspects and criminals.
The TV!
As with a lot of our team building events, the TV and media gave us a huge amount of insight. With the huge popularity of the famous CSI series, we also looked at trending shows such as the Ted Bundy Tapes and Making of a Murderer. The objective here was to capture the same level of intrigue and inject it into the experiences to get maximum engagement.
